Mid-State Wine & Liquors - Exports Their Selected Imported Wines Nationally

Houston, Texas (October 2013)- Mid-State Wine & Liquors a boutique distributor, wholesaler and Importer based in Houston, Texas finally breaks ground in the USA National wine market. Mid-State finally got the chance to break ground nationally after now starting our 14th year of doing business in Texas says, Junico Velarde Houston Restaurant Account manager.

Mid-state finally broke ground in Indiana in August of 2013 by selling the Dona Isadora Chilean wines to RNDC distributor. Leon Sierra just visited the great state of Colorado and will have a distributor in January of 2014. Mid-State has plans to grow and expand in 2014 to other states like Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Florida to introduce the imported selected wines as well, says Leon D. Sierra Owner of Mid-State wine.

The company’s import Sierra Selections’ portfolio started about 8 years ago. Our philosophy with the selected imported wine portfolio was to first break ground in Texas which is now the 3rd largest wine consumption state in the USA. Mid-State wanted to assure that their imported wines were well distributed in Texas, and have successful distribution track record before introducing to other USA states, said Juan Ramos Operations manager. Leon D. Sierra does not rush things and his calculated risks assures all of us and other state’s wholesalers that our selected imported wines should do well in their states since they already do well in the Texas market, says Andres Ramos – Logistics manager.

Our current selected imported portfolio consists of bringing wineries from Spain like the Senor Sierra de Alicante wines from Alicante region, Sierra de Miros wines and Bodegas Valduero from Ribera del Duero region, Bodegas Sumarroca Cava’s and Sierra Selections La crusset Brut Reserve Cava from Penedes region, Vermentino di Galura DOCG “Serenu” from Sardinia, a Sardinian Red blend called Fidatu , Efix a vermentino sparkling one of a kind in the USA from Sardinia, and Dona Isadora wines from Lontue Valley region of Chile. We are also going to introduce and sell to other USA markets our low production private labels called Sierra Peaks Pinot Noir from Oregon State and our Red Bordeaux type blend Sierra Peaks called Tinto con Harmonia from Washington State

Our philosophy of importing wine is simple, partner up with the winery owners and get the best wines from their family state owned wineries from over the world that represent that particular country or region’s terroir. With so many Importers in the USA and in Texas, Mid-State strives to standout. We are going to have over 25% of our entire portfolio for the national market as well in the next 5 years which is according to our business plan. This is a tribute to the effort Mid-State’s Owner and their Winelogists has made to compose a portfolio of imported wines that are unique, offering great value, awesome quality and great taste, said Dallas Kirkpatrick, Retail account manager of Mid-state wine.
